Kurt Cobain Guitar Sold For $6 Million
The late front man of Seattle grunge band Nirvana, Kurt Cobain’s guitar sold for more than $6 million. The guitar was used in Nirvana’s 1993 session of “MTV Unplugged in New York”.
The acoustic-electric 1959 Martin D-18E was bought by Australian businessman Peter Freedman who is the owner of RØDE Microphones.
The guitar included Cobain’s original case, three Dunlop guitar picks, a set of guitar strings, and a few other personal items.
Freedman stated he bought the guitar as an opportunity to raise “awareness for the struggles that musicians and artists face every day.”
