Mercedes ISD to End Mask Mandate
The Mercedes Independent School District has announced they will no longer require students, staff, and school visitors to wear face masks starting on June 5th.
The statement released by MISD said they encourage all staff and students to get vaccinated through Mercedes ISD clinics or other vaccine providers of their choice.
This comes after Texas Governor, Greg Abbott’s Executive Order prohibiting mask mandates. The Executive Order stated that “after June 4, no student, teacher, parent, or other staff member or visitor can be required to wear a mask while on campus.”
